Michelle Gustafson is an American freelance photojournalist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to moving to the East Coast, Michelle spent the previous decade traveling throughout the Mountain West, ranging from New Mexico to Montana. Her reportage and portraiture keenly reflects a curiosity and sensitivity towards her subjects, observing the intimate gestures and subtle interactions between them to tell a larger story of human connection and relativity.
She is available for freelance assignments nationally and worldwide.
Michelle was a participant at the Eddie Adams Workshop XXVII in 2014 and returned as a member of the Black Team in 2017 and 2018.
Recently, her work was featured in "Unprecedented", the first book from CNN Politics chronicling the 2016 Presidential election, as well as Condé Nast's "Together We Rise," a book of images published in 2018 documenting the historic Women's March in Washington, D.C. in 2017.
